Imperial Sand Dunes Camping Area locations:

 

     

Pay station is on the right, just past the ranger station.  There is a pay phone and a bathroom near there too.  Garbage bins are a bit past the pay station on the left.

 

Turn right on Gecko Rd., then another right turn before Ranger Station. Bathroom.  No dumpster. Vendors are located across Gecko Rd.

- First hardened camping pad on the left.  About 1/2 mile from Hwy 78. Pads are marked by white paint on road. Bathroom at Pay Station.  Dumpsters nearby.

- Paved "keyhole" camping area.  Very small paved pad off of Gecko Rd. near Roadrunner. 5.4 miles from Hwy 78. No bathrooms or dumpster.

- Loop at end of Gecko Rd. 5.8 miles from Hwy 78. Camping spots fill up very early. Bathrooms & dumpster.

- Hwy 78 before Gecko Rd.

 

- Hwy 78 between Gecko Rd. and Glamis Beach Store (3.8 miles west of Glamis Beach Store). Closed on holiday weekends (now used as BLM "command" center).  Small camping area.  Great access to big bowls. Dedicated to Hugh T. Osborne. No bathrooms or dumpsters.

- Hwy 78 to Glamis Store. Wash Road is between the store and the railroad tracks.Wash numbers start at the store and increase as you head south. Wash Road is typically filled with whoops and can be quite dusty. Wash 13 is 2.5 miles from Hwy 78.
